The fiber network core is finished. This secure and climate-controlled space contains the electronics that support the network and connect it to the Internet. A dedication ceremony is planned in the near future as our schools open back up.
Our new school will open up on our new network. Both will serve the Vail community for decades to come.
Acacia, Desert Willow, Desert Sky, Mesquite, and Vail Academy were brought online this week, as the finishing pieces on this 3 year, 4 million dollar project are put into place.
While not a school, the District Office is the “engine room” that keeps the ship running. The install was difficult as the building is old, but the fiber crews found a way in and we brought the building online last night.
Connectivity is now being extended to our schools along Houghton north of I-10. The remainder of Rita Ranch schools should follow next week, along with Vail Academy and High School.
